Friday March 4, 2015 - The strategy for beating anti-LGBT Religious Freedom bills is working.

A strategy is developing that seems to be working. It is stopping Religious Freedom bills that support discrimination against our community. The strategy seems to be getting support from the Governor through pressure from the business community.

In Indiana, the business community pressured Governor Pence to force the Indiana anti-LGBT bill to be rewritten. Then, the Arkansas Governor vetoed the state bill after first saying he would sign it.

Earlier this week, I wrote a post about the South Dakota Governor vetoing the bill.

New, today in Georgia, Governor Dean has come out against the anti-LGBT bill moving through the State House and Senate. State Senator Kirk now seems to be backing off and will make changes to satisfy the Governor.

  1. Honestly, I think Deal wants this bill buried completely. He's always been good about getting things he opposes buried in a committee and forgotten. Plus if Speaker Ralston doesn't let it be called to the floor, it's dead for this year. Of course they will be back. I'm surprised there hasn't been an anti-trans bathroom bill here.
