Tuesday March 1, 2016 - VETO!! - Yes

Gov. Dennis Daugaard of South Dakota vetoed a bill that would have restricted bathroom access for transgender students and made the state the first to adopt such a measure.

It is not over, as these bills will continue to popup. It will continue to take hard work to inform people about the damage this bill would do to many people. Watch the short video below from the Governor about becoming better informed.

The people in South Dakota did a fantastic job of educating the Governor.

Below is an article about the veto.

  1. There is no question that Duagaard is a right wing conservative Republican. He came from humble beginnings growing up on a farm with two deaf parents who communicated in sign language. He worked his way through school and has the good sense to bring his conservative views towards all.

  2. Thanks for the information. Based on his background, I would expect him to veto that bill because he understands the issues related to being non-conforming. He grew up having empathy. Therefore he could relate to the transchildren he met.

  3. Proud of my friend Mara Kiesling for going out and supporting them. But then I'm proud of everything Mara does.
