Sunday October 11, 2015 - Interesting Study

One way in which Transpeople who are still private (closet) can help our community is to participate in anonymous research studies. Accurate data is needed to assist in telling the greater community about us. An earlier post about academic studies.

I recently (June 2015) participated in a study. Below is a call for Transpeople 50 years of age and older to participate in an anonymous study about positive physical and mental health outcomes.

Please read the requirements below and think about participating. I have included additional links so that you can complete additional research about the Doctors involved and their organizations.

Volunteers Needed for LGBTQQI Aging-Empoweredly Study

Dr. Paula Britton of John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH and Dr. Darrell Greene of NY are conducting a study of LGBTQQI aging through John Carroll University and the JCU Counseling Department

If you are 50 or older, willing to share health information and identify as lesbian, gay, or bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, or intersex (LGBTQQI), please participate in a national and anonymous on-line survey study on LGBTQQI aging.

The study will take about 20-30 minutes to complete.  Benefit to you as a participant involves contributing to our knowledge of positive LGBTQQI aging.  Complete the survey, and be eligible to win from $10 to up to $50 in gift cards.

If interested, please go to the following surveylink:

If you have any questions, please email Dr. Greene,.Ph.D. dgreene@jcu.edu or darrellcgreene@gmail.com.

Thank you!
