Saturday October 31, 2015 - Friday was electrology session and pedicure

Yesterday was a Femboy day. I had not been out in awhile because of traveling and days of business negotiations. As a matter of fact, I had to change my Tuesday's electrology appointment until Friday.

It was a little cool outside, So I wore my green knit sweater hoodie. This sweater has a deep V-neck collar. So I wore my orange lace spaghetti strap top. I loved the color contrast with the green sweater and the orange feminine lace top. I added my diamond heart necklace along with a large silver bracelet on one hand and a brown and gold bracelet on the other hand.

I wore my dark brown leggings along with my favorite fall color flats.

I got to the electrology clinic just in time. Today was the first time, my two weeks of growth was cleared in less than 1 hour.

The technician and I had a good talk. I finally felt like discussing my trans history with her. We are about the same age and remember growing up in the late 60's. Back then, we did not know what to call it, but some people were different. She talked about a cousin who she knew was different and unlike the other boys, but he has never come out as guy, but his work and social life indicate he is.

We talked about when I knew (about 8 years old) and how my parents dealt with it. This discussion made the session zoom by.

Afterward, I added my makeup and headed out the door. I do not wear makeup before my session because of the work around my mouth, which smears my lipstick and the tears from work under my nose, makes my mascara run.

So after I pay, I use the restroom to apply my makeup.

I apply:
  1. Lipstick
  2. blush
  3. eyeliner and mascara
  4. eyeshadow
  5. eyebrow pencil
I am getting better and faster with my application. I still need to work on my eye shadow application with better quality makeup.
Once, I finish my hair removal, I am going to start adding light foundation with highlighting and contouring. One of the main reasons I went through years of electrology was to be able to wear makeup without beard cover and that heavy makeup look. At almost 60, my makeup needs to be light.

Afterward, I needed a pedicure really bad. I went to my usual nail shop. My regular tech was on vacation, so I asked the owner, who always greets me warmly, to pick another tech for me.  She chose an older lady who did a great job. She was a little slower but more precise.

I decided to go back to the french tip or white tip. I am old fashion and like that natural look. Light pastel colors are also nice, but I do not like the loud colors or multi-color look. The lady next to me had different colors on each toe and those colors was loud. That is not me.

I ran some errands the rest of the day. After my errands, I went home and changed into my gym clothes. I hit the gym for a quick 1 hour workout.

It is always a fun day when out and about.

Friday October 30, 2015 - My favorite Fall night clothes

Yesterday, I was swapping out my clothes. Putting away my summer outfits and unboxing my fall and winter outfits.

Last night, I put on my favorite fall night wear. I love this outfit because I bought the top first and a few weeks later, I found the bottoms at another store. They look like a two piece that was sold together.

Also, this outfit is very cozy. It's warm for those cool nights. As it gets colder, I will start wearing my flannel outfits.

I have a Christmas and Thanksgiving sleep wear outfit.

Below are some additional pictures of this outfit.

I have three pair of cozy socks I can wear with this outfit.

Thursday October 29, 2015 - Feeling Good

I am feeling good today. Yesterday I took some fem-time and I feel pretty. Also, I have changed my workout routine and bought a Nutribullet to make smoothies. I can feel the difference.

I do not look like the photo on the left, yet, but I can get there. Just wait until 6 to 9 months on HRT.

I changed my workout routine last month. I am warming up with 15- 20 minutes on the stairmaster. Followed by 60 minutes to 120 minutes on the elliptical machine. My goal is 6 to 7 hours per week on the elliptical and 1 hour on the stairmaster.

The slow cardio burning is having an impact because my racing bras are feeling lose around the band. I think I am finally burning upper body muscle. It takes a long slow burn with long time cardio sessions to reach that muscle burning stage. The two hour sessions appear to be doing that.

Also, I started making home smoothies that I eat/drink after each workout. I make a simple smoothie with:

  1. 1 cup of raw strawberries or raspberries
  2. 1 cup of 2% milk
  3. 1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt
  4. 1 tablespoon of vanilla protein power
This is about 250 calories for 16 ounces.

My grandkids hate the drink because there is not enough sugar. I love it.

I have noticed in the last week that my energy level is up and the amount of calories burned per hour has increased. I know that these machines overestimate the amount of calories burned. But I use the number as a gauge over time, to see how much effort I am using.

In the late 2010 and throught 2011, I could "burn" 800 calories per hour. But over the past couple of years, 720 calories per hour was good. This summer, I was having trouble reaching 700 and sometimes I was in the 680 to 700 calorie per hour range.

However, over the past week, I am back in the 790 to 810 calorie per hour range and I can do that for the total two hour period. As a matter of fact, I find 1 hour of cardio is a warm up and I am ready for that second hour. I am having no problem with the 2 hour session. I might try three hours this Sunday while watching the NFL game, just to see how I perform.

In the meanwhile, my clothes are getting loose. My scale broke, so I have not weighted myself, but I feel great and appear to look thinner.

Wednesday October 28, 2015 - Today I am taking some fem-time

I have been very busy these past 10 days, working on various projects. I have neglected my fem-self. I even had to change by bi-weekly electrology session until this Friday (Darn!).  Today is going to be another busy day from me.

I feel the dysphoria, so I am going to take some fem-time this afternoon.
1) nice long bubble bath
2) watch a few makeup Youtube videos while bathing
3) body shave toward end of the bath
4) lemon facial
5) manicure
6) change my closet wardrobe from summer to winter clothes
7) I need a pedicure but will wait until Friday

Thursday, I am going to take some fem-time practicing makeup.

Friday, I will have my eletrology session and pedicure. Plus, I will then run errands all day in Femboy mode. The weather will be cool and damp, so I am going to wear one of my pretty coats and probably a scarf.

Monday October 26, 2015 - NFL Texan owner rescinded donation

Bob McNair, owner of the NFL Texans rescinded his $10,000 donation to the group opposing the HERO Houston ordinance. The Houston Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO), is measure to protect Houston residents and visitors from discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

I  suspect one reason, Mr. McNair is backing off is because of the negative blowback he has received. He has realized that this is a bad business decision. Here is a link to a high school student's letter to Mr. McNair. This student is a Texan fan and......gay.

As usual, the opposition is using the bathroom scare tactic as one reason to vote against this measure.

The opposition knows that this is a weak point in the LGBT community. They can use fear among people about men in the women's bathroom as a reason to vote this down.

Therefore, its up to us to counter that issue by strategies like the the bathroom selfies.

Voting for the HERO ordinance is next week and polling looks good. However, turnout is the key.

One good way to support HERO is to donate to Houston Unites which is the grassroots organization that supports this ordinance.

Here is a local news article about the rescinded donation.

Sunday October 25, 2015 - Fighting the Bathroom Police

One way states are retaliating against LGBT civil rights gains is by attacking transgender rights through "bathroom" laws. These laws are being created based on woman's fears about safety in the bathroom.

Most of the laws are meant to force transpeople to use the public bathrooms that match their birth sex.

It is a backdoor way of discriminating against transgender people.

Transgender people are fighting back. I think its a brilliant idea to take a selfie showing transpeople in the correct bathroom based on the law but not based on how they present.

It is such a good idea because most proponents of the law are creating fear based on men dressing as women and using the womens's bathroom. Its based on male to female crossdressers really being sexual predators.

But no one talks about transmen who would have to use the ladies room. Below is a slide of about 13 selfies that show the reality of the law. These selfies have helped stop some of these laws as the public realize that the law would create more problems than it solves.

Saturday October 24, 2015 - Seed of Chucky

I was watching the fifth and crazy installment of the "horror" series about the possessed Chucky doll. It opened in the theater in 2004.

I did not realize Chucky's son was a crossdresser or a transwoman.

Watch this scene, its a trip. This is a horror-comedy and look at how we are presented on TV.

Saturday October 24, 2015 - NJ Transwoman elected Homecoming queen

In Trenton, New Jersey Jae Irizarry, Queen was elected Homecoming Queen. Earlier this month I had a couple of posts concerning a Kansas City High School that elected a Transwoman, Homecoming Queen.

It is a positive event when  a Transwoman is elected as  High School Homecoming Queen. I have noticed that the students overall support the Queen, while a minority of students and some parents do not support the student..

There was some negative press from the Trenton newspaper. The main issue was that the election was rigged in her favor.

Friday October 23, 2015 - He or She

When I am out in Femboy mode, the pronouns used by people, toward me, does not bother me. I am not attempting to "pass". I am learning how to be out in public dressed as a feminine male. I want to get comfortable in public and see how I am treated in public.

I have has people refer to me as either he or she. Many people do not use a pronoun and just talk.

Once I take that next step to present as Susan, people using the female pronoun will be more important to me.

I am not there yet.

Below is a video in which some transgender people were asked about the use of pronouns.

Wednesday October 21, 2015 - Painting my finger nails

I shape and paint my finger nails every week or two. I use clear polish and try and keep them shapely.

I use gloves to wash dishes and clean around the house. I also have a daily routine for keeping my hands moisturized and soft.

Below is an inforgraphic about painting finger nails and a nice video.

Tuesday October 20, 2015 - Dress up day

Yesterday, after playing around with my makeup, I decided to try on an outfit.

I put on a nice grey and light blue blouse with a grey pair of skinny jeans. I added a pair of brown and grey wedges. For jewelry, I added a blue heart pendant, a silver ankle bracket, my large silver bracelet, two shell bracelets (blue/silver and white) and blue hoop earrings.

I like the look for warmer weather. But its cooling off in Atlanta. So I need to bring my winter clothes out and put away my summer clothes.

Below are some other pictures I took that show my outfit from different angles.

When looking at these picture, I see flaws. It makes me think of articles I have read in which many women constantly highlight their flaws.

Today, I want to concentrate on the good. Here is what I like about me:

  1. My hair, I love the color and style
  2. My size, I work hard trying to control my eating and stay in the gym
  3. My gynecomastia, I was embarrassed about it growing up and now I love it
  4. My face, eliminating my facial hair and my skin routine had made my skin look good
  5. My legs, I keep them shaved and they are shapely

I am not trying to brag, I just think we should not always look at the bad things. We need to recognize the good and move forward from there so we can improve..

Monday October 19, 2015 - Eye Makeup

Earlier today, I decided to play around with my eye makeup. I need to practice more on my makeup.

So I worked on my mascara, eyeliner, eyebrows eye shadow.

I am pretty good with my mascara. I have long lashes and can coat them easily without getting it on my face. I coat both the top and bottom lashes. Once they dry, I curl them.

I add my bottom eye liner onto my waterline. I like how that looks. But I can not add liner to my top eyelid waterline. So I add the liner along the top of the lid as close to the lash line as possible. I need to work on making that top line thin and straight.

The eyebrow liner I usually use was broken. So I had to use a darker color. I like a lighter brown that matches my hair. So this eye brow, though arched, is too dark for me and stands out too much.

For the first time, I added an eye shadow primer. This provided a nice base for adding eye shadow. I added white, brown and a dark red, but it did not show up that much. I think part of the problem is that the eye shadow I am using is cheap. It flacks off the much. Even with the primer, I noticed flaking from my eye shadow not long after I placed it on. I am going to invest in some better quality eye shadow.

If I could get a deeper color on my eye lids, this look would be better. This next picture is with glasses on which would be the actual look.

Overall, I like the look. Now I see why women get contact lenses. The glasses do a good job of framing my face, but they hide my eye makeup.

This is why I bough glasses with a bigger lens that drops low toward my cheeks.

I added blush and lipstick for my overall makeup look for the day. Below are two photos, one with glasses on and the second photo without glasses.

Overall, I like where my makeup is going. I still need to add some light foundation and contouring to help with my overall look. I have been watching youtube videos on minimizing the bags under my eyes.

In the next couple of weeks, I will try some foundation and contouring to see how it works.

Sunday October 18, 2015 -The 3rd Piece Rule for clothes

I love jackets, coats and accessorizing with hats, jewelry and scarves. This is one reason, I like the colder weather. So next weekend I am going to pull out my jackets and sweaters.

Below are a couple of cute jackets I bought last winter. I look forward to wearing them again this winter. On the left picture is my creme jacket from Kohl's. I wore my cute boots from shoe show. The boots are creme with white and brown fur. The fur on the boots match the fur around the jacket's hood.

The picture on the right,  is me in my black and white pea coat. I bought this at Burlington Coat Factory. I added a red and a white scarf along with grey leg warmers.

Below is an infographic about how to improve your outfits using the "Third Piece Rule. I try and accessorize all the time to add color and depth to my outfits. Plus you can create more options with the same clothes by adding the 3rd Piece.

Sunday October 18, 2015 - Raising a Transboy

I am always amazed and happy when I read or watch a positive story about a family coming to terms with a transgender child. One reason is that as these children grow, they will have a positive impact on the people around them. Their current and future impact on society will make it easier on the next generation.

I look at these children as possible community "super heroes" of the future. Jazz Jennings is a prime example. I am sure there are many others still growing, learning and educating others all across the country.

The future for our community is bright and I want to live to see it.

Saturday October 17, 2015 - Female Posture

I found this infographic about posture as a female. It is a problem I have. I have to constantly remind myself of the correct female posture. I worry that my back is not straight and I do not stand correctly.

This infographic helps. I am working on my posing and posture by taking pictures and viewing the results.

Saturday October 17, 2015 - Lipstick Play

This morning, I decided to take sometime to play around with my lipstick colors. I found 5 lipsticks that I have had for years. They are basically red and its the brightness of the red that makes the difference.

Now that I wear lipstick even in Femboy mode, I wanted to see which colors I want to keep and then go out a buy a few replacement colors.

Here are the five colors, I am going to try on.

I am going to start from the left. The first on the left is the brightest red and the last on the right is the darkest red.

I have three lip liners that I will use to coat my lips before I add the lipstick. I learned from my Avon rep back in the 1990's that using lip liner to not only define my lip line but also by covering your lips with the liner, it keeps the lipstick on longer.

I will also add clear lip gloss after I finish applying my lipstick.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here I am without any lipstick. I am just getting started to play...Yeah!!

Also, I have zero makeup on. Nothing on my cheeks, eyes or eyebrows. Yet sometimes when I look in the mirror, I see a girl coming out. I think the beard clearing and skin routine is paying off. I can not forget the exercising and better eating.

Anyway, below is a picture of me with just the lip liner covering my lips.

This is a picture with the brightest red lipstick. My camera is not that great but I do not like the color. It was too bright red. This picture does not show that but its an older looking red color.
This is a closer picture of the second lip color. Its still too red for me.
This is the third color and I added the clear lip gloss. You can see that the gloss adds a nice shine to my lips. The color is a little more muted.
This color is a little less red than the one above. I like this color. It's a little more muted and I think it blends in better.
This is the darker color that is less red. I like it. However, I do not know which one I like the most between this color and the color above. The one above is a little more red.

I am going to keep these last two and look around to add a color or two around these two colors.

The first three were too red and I will get rid of them.

I definitely like the clear lip gloss because it added a nice shine to my lips.

I was looking at my close up pictures and having my eyebrows arched with electrology was worth it. I like the arch with this hair. I love the look of one arched eyebrow peeking through my bangs. I think its cute and sexy.

Once I am on HRT for 6 to 12 months, I can not wait for my eyes to start glowing. I noticed from the timeline pictures on reddit, after 6 to 12 months, the Transwomen's eyes appear brighter and larger. The eyes begin to stand out. That it what I am waiting for. It along with the change in facial fat distribution, will make a big difference.

I am going to compare these pictures with the ones late next year, to see if there is a difference in the eyes.

Later, I am going to play around with my eye makeup. I will post the results.

Friday October 16, 2015 - Genderbread Man

The above infographic does a good job of showing the now four variables that make us who we are. Where are you on the four scales?

Gender ID: Woman
Gender Expression: Androgynous to Feminine
Biological Sex: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Friday October 16, 2015 - School Dress Code 1969 vs 2015

I remember middle school at Sampson G. Smith in Franklin Township New Jersey. In 7th grade during the 1968-1969 school year, next to the King Assignation, the school dress code was the big issue. Girls could not wear pants during the school day.

Because we lived in New Jersey, during cold days, girls could wear pants to and from school, under their dress or skirt. But had to remove them, once the school day started. All that year the girls were demanding the right to wear pants during the school day.

I remember arguing that girls should not wear pants because if they did, how could we "guys" tell the difference between boys and girls. During that same time I was fighting my desire to wear woman clothes.

Toward the end of that school year, the dress code was changed and girls could wear pants anytime. I did not dare mention that boys should be allowed to wear skirts or dresses.

Here is the local front page newspaper story about the change.

Well we adjusted pretty well to the change. However during the next school year 1969-1970, now in 8th grade, my older cousin came out of the closet in 10th grade as a woman and wore a dress to school. He was labeled gay and thrown out of school and out of the house.

It was a big deal and our large extended family rejected him. It scared me deeper into the closet.

Here is a picture of him in 9th grade, the year before he came out. He was in a high school program for gifted students. This picture is from the local newspaper. I added the arrow.

Now in 2015, I ran across an article about Puerto Rico allowing boys to wear shirts.

Skirt or Pants? Students in Puerto Rico Can Now Wear Either

Just like in NJ in the late 1960's it will take some time but Transgirls can begin to come out while still in school. This will assist them in becoming productive citizens. I know it will take much more time, but its a start.

I sometimes think about my cousin and the loss of such a brilliant Transwoman who could could have brought so much positive energy to the community. He died in 1986 of HIV.
