Sunday September 24, 2017 - My workout

Wow, it has been awhile since I worked out and it showed. I had been working out 3/4 days a week since March 2010. But I stopped about 1 year ago to work on my diabetes and start my HRT. After about 6 months on HRT, I stopped going to the gym.

I definitely male failed, but I did not care. I stopped at the gas station to get a free cup of ice water. It was crowded around the cashier. As I walked by the crowd, this guy looked me up and down and watched me as I walked to the soda fountain. No one else gave me a second look.

I has no issues in the gym as I still use the men's dressing room.

I started with 10 minutes on the stairmaster. I use to complete 45 minutes at level 10. Today, 10 minutes at level 8 had we sweating.

I moved to the 10 station 30-minute weight system. I had not done this before, so I used just 55 lbs and completed 12 reps per machine.

Finally, I completed 30 minutes on the elliptical machine. I use to complete 60 to 180 minutes on the elliptical machine at a level 10. I used Level 8 today.

I felt really good, the rest of the day. I am going to slowly build back up and go 3 days a week.

Saturday September 23, 2017 - Back to the gym

This morning I am going back to the gym. Its been months, and I need to get back to working out. I would like to lose some weight (about 10 lbs). But I also want to see what long-term cardio and weight lifting will do for my glucose levels and overall health.

I can still get into my size 8/10 clothes, but they are tight is some ares due to either HRT growth or too many net calories.

I suspect I will lose some breast size (boo), but would like my measurements to be in the mid to low 30' with my breast line at 40"+.

Today is a test to see how out-of-shape I am. I will not overdue it. Below is a picture of me on September 25, 2016 and today (September 23, 2017). It's the same outfit.

Wednesday October 5, 2016 - Cost of Transition

Below is a good infographic that outlines some of the surgery costs of MTF transgender surgery.

For me, I can see having my Adams apple shaved. But I am willing to let what nature gives me for the rest. I have not decided on SRS. At this time, my answer is no, as. I  HRT do its thing over the next 24 months..

For me, what is not included but mentioned at the bottom of the graphic is electrology. That along with losing weight were the two most important costs for me.

Electology cost me over $10,000 during a 4 year period. I am still going periodically to get stray hairs. But having a smooth face impacts your look and application of makeup.

Weight loss and weight control is an ongoing lifelong issue. Once I lost 60+ pounds over 18 months, its a lifestyle change that keeps it off.

Being thinner allows you to create a more natural feminine look by hiding more of your male traits (shoulder  and stomach areas).

Sunday June 5, 2016 - Excited

I am headed to the gym this morning. I need to burn off some stress. I did not exercise like I wanted to, these past few months. But I am going to try and workout everyday this week.

But in the meanwhile, I am so excited about starting HRT, its all I can think about.

So I am sorry if these next few posts seem like a broken record.

I now know what I am going to wear and I know my schedule for the day.

I am going to create a monthly post that will document my changes in a timeline format. This post will include measurements and a semi-nude side by side picture. I hope to create this post monthly for two years. It is an attempt to show the affects of HRT on an older transwoman.

My blog has changed in the past two years and I expect it to continue to evolve as I do. That is what this transition is all about.

Sunday February 14, 2016 - Working out In Montgomery Alabama

Saturday, I traveled to Montgomery Alabama to inspect some property. I knew I would be gone all day, so I took an exercise outfit. Around 2 pm, I stopped at the only Planet Fintess is town and paid $5 as a guest to workout.

While signing in, the employee stated that their showers were not working due to a sewer problem. DARN! How am I going to clean up and go back to work?

I decided to stay and workout. Afterward I will go to the local Pilot Gas Station - Truck Stop and rent a show.

I changed into a basic black and pink outfit that I packed. I then went out on the exercise floor, just like in Atlanta and followed my basic routine. This was a smaller center and there were about 20 people exercising. I completed 15 minutes of warm up on the stairmaster and then 150 minutes (2.5 hours) on the elliptical machine. I stopped every 60 minutes for a quick water break.

As usual, I had no issues. I had a few people look at me but we all look at each other since its a small gym. I just smiled and continued sweating and watching TV. I think some of the looks were because I am slim and look good in this pick outfit. It's cute and it shows off my shapely legs.

Once I completed mt workout, I headed back to the men's locker room and used my towel to dry off. I them put on my coat, but I did not button it up because I was sweating and did not want to sweat too much into my coat.

It was cool outside, so I walked quickly too my car and headed to the Pilot Gas Station. The station was about 20 mile away, so it was not close and I put on the heat so that I would not catch a cold. I use Pilot or their sister station Flying J when I travel. I like the price of gas and the Flying J has good food.

Once I got there, I parked and went inside. It was crowded as usual and I had on my exercise clothes with a coat over me and a wet towel around my next. I explained to the cashier that I need to rent a shower because the gym showers were out. I have a frequent user Pilot card that gets me free coffee every once in awhile. The shower cost $11.00, but the lady gave me a courtesy shower. She felt bad for me, plus she might have liked my pink outfit. LOL

This is the first time I used one of their showers and it was really nice. There was a toilet, sink and tile shower stall. They provided a floor mat, towel, wash cloth and soap. The left picture is me in the shower room. I felt comfortable and safe while using it.

You may notice a breast line. I forgot to bring a new  bra and panty set. So I worked out without a bra or panties on so I could wear a set after I showered. I must member not to do that again. Because after some time on HRT, I may not be able to workout without a bra on.

I thought about and figured, I could have bought a bra/panty set to either workout in or to put on after I showered.

This is why I do not shower at my gym. I this case, after decades of learning how to hide my chest in public, I could take a shower in the gym, dry off and dress either in the shower stall or run over to a toilet stall and dress. But here at Pilot, I had 100% privacy. The water was hot and the soap was plentiful.

After I finished, I went back up to the cashier and bought a slice of pizza and thanked her for the free use of the shower.

She was a very nice lady.

Here I was in southern central  Alabama and had no problems.

Friday February 12, 2016 - Something interesting happen at the gym last night.

I had a very good workout Thursday night. But before my workout and while I was in the locker room, I had a very good discussion with some of my friends.

My friend who moved to this gym from LA Fitness during the same time I did, was finishing up his workout as I arrived. We talked for about 10 to 15 minutes about the Presidential race and gas prices. I had just paid $1.49 per gallon for gas. He is younger than I am and does not remember $0.35 per gallon gas. I remember in high school during the oil embargo, I declared that if gas reached $1.00, I was going to quit driving. LOL

Then my other friend walking in the locker room. This is the Dallas Cowboy fan who calls me the marathon man because of my long workouts. As a matter of fact, today, I completed 3 hours on the elliptical machine plus 15 minutes of warm up on the stairmaster.

He joined our conversation about gas prices and then we talked about how is father read this book on how to turn $10,000 into $1,000,000. His dad died in 2010 a millionaire. So we talked about that and his grandmother who ran away from home at 16 to join the circus.

The three of us ended up talking for about 20 minutes. During that time I was dressed in my feminine workout attire. (See above and below) No one said anything or looked funny at me. The discussion was so good, I forgot what I was wearing and no one cared. We  were just having that man type discussion.

Toward the end of out talk, it hit me that I can do this, I can transition and I bet very few people would care. Now am not fooling myself by thinking I can still walk into a men's locker room. So it will impact my workout routine. But basically, if I behave as though how I am presenting in normal, more people will will accept me.

Wednesday February 3, 2016 - Time to get back into bathing suit condition.

Its been a rough few months when it comes to my figure. I can feel my clothes getting tight. Regular readers may know that I lost 65 lbs in 18 month (2010-2011). I have kept it off over the past 4+ years by exercising and controlling my caloric intake. I use myfitnesspal.com to track my calories.

Usually, I exercise more during September and October to get ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas, when I know I will overeat.

I was fine going into November. Then my mother's sudden death followed by Thankgiving, my mother's Repass and Christmas, I kept working out but my eating was horrible.

Then In January, I picked up a client who owns a Greek dinner and they love to feed me and offer me those giant cakes. I fought the food as best I could but even eating just a little late at night did not help. Also, I was not exercising as much because I had to meet the client during my normal exercise time.

Well, Monday, being the first of February, I am recommitting myself back to my healthy lifestyle. I have about 15 weeks until I begin HRT and I want to get as much fat off as possible before I start.

Here is my program:

  1. I am going to exercise 7 hours a week for the next 15 weeks for a total of 105 hours.
  2. I am going to use the myfitnesspal app to track my 1,780 calories per day.
  3. I am only going to eat what is on that list from the fitness post I published back in December.
I know this will work. I just need to commit to it.

Wish me luck. I need to get back into bathing suit condition. :-}

Wednesday December 30, 2015 - A diet/exercise routine for MTF transition

If you are a frequent reader of my blog, you know I work on keeping my weight down, so that I have a more feminine figure.

I do this with both diet and exercise. However, I have been worried about how to control my figure, once I begin HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy).

The following is the best explanation and analysis, I have read of how to use diet and exercise to sculpture a more feminine figure during transition.

It took me 18 months to lose the weight. My goal was not to lose a certain amount of weight but to reduce my waistline, get healthy and fit into an old pair of female jeans. Those jeans some how made thru two female clothes purges.

My waist started at 45" inches and ended up at 28". It is now, 7 years later and my waist is about 35". I do not weigh myself. I have no scale. As long as my clothes fit and I can still wear a size 10, I am ok.

I would like to stay at 32" because a  28" waist made me look too small with a big head. I looked like a cartoon character. Lol

This not a diet but a lifestyle change.

Workout/Diet/Caloric Intake/Macronutrient Ratio
Workout Routine:
Let's see 6 sets of squats 155lbs 5 sets leg press 300lbs 4 sets lunges with dumbbells 15 minutes stairmaster 4 sets leg curls 4 sets leg extensions 4 sets kickbacks for glutes 4 sets adductor 4 sets abductor 30 minutes incline speed walk 30 minutes jogging
I also neglected all upper body weights to let my upper body atrophy.

Diet:
I eat only certain types of foods.
Protein: chicken breast, Turkey breast and protein shake
Carbs: oatmeal, brown rice, whole wheat bread, whole wheat pasta, black beans, apples, oranges, grapefruit, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, honey for sweetener, broccoli, spinach, black olives, onions, garlic, salads with extra Virginia olive oil and vinegar.
Fats: peanut butter all natural, almonds, extra Virginia olive oil, avocados
What not to eat: no processed sugars, no stevia or artifical sweeteners, soda, candy, salad dressings they are absolutely horrible, maple syrup, white bread or pasta, bagels, donuts, no chips at all even the healthy ones avoid them, cookies, nutrition grain or protein or health bars they are absolutely terrible and high in sugar no granola bars either.
Basically if it's processed avoid it like the plague.

Daily Caloric Intake and Macronutrient Ratio:
Body Weight: 150    Body Fat%: 21
Body Fat Weight:
Body Weight minus total body mass= 150 x .21(two decimal place to left)=31.5 lbs
Lean Body Mass:
Body Weight minus Body Fat Weight= 150 -31.5 = 118.5 lbs
Basal Metabolic Rate(BMR):
Lean Mass times 10= 118.5 x 10 = 1185 calories per day- the bare minimum required to maintain life
Activity Level Value Activity Level Description:
1.2 Sedentary Little to no exercise
1.375 Light 1-3 days per week
1.55 Moderate 3-5 days per week
1.725 Active 6-7 days per week
1.9 Active Intense job and exercise
Total Calorie Intake Formula:
BMR x Activity Level + BMR = Total Calorie Intake per day to maintain weight 1185 x .5 + 1185 = 1777.5 Calories to Maintain My Weight

To lose 1 lb = 3500 calories need to be lost

So, in general, if you cut 500 calories from your typical diet each day, you'd lose about 1 pound a week (500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories).
1777.5 - 500= 1277.5 Calories to lose 1lb per week.
1777.5 + 500= 2277.5 Calories to gain 1lb per week.
I would recommend that if you are trying to lose weight, it’s best to ‘lose’ the calories through exercise than cutting your nutrition.

An hour on an upright cycle, or 40 minutes of intense weight training will easily burn 500 calories, and yet your body will still have received the necessary amount of calories to function optimally.

Macro Nutrient Ratios: Protein/Carbs/Fats:
1) FTM Muscle Gain: 40% 45% 15%
2) Fat Loss: 48% 32% 20%
3) MTF Muscle Loss, Fat Gain (Good Fat): 15% 65% 20%
For MTF
Continue 3) until you reach your goals, then switch to 2) for a healthier ratio overall this is enough protein to keep your body functioning while your muscles atrophy.

More Calculations about 3).
1 Gram of Fat= 9 calories
1 Gram of Protein= 4 calories
1 Gram of Carbs= 4 calories
Based on 1,777.5 daily caloric intake

Protein intake - .15 *1,777.5 = 266.6 Calories of Protein/4 calories = 66 grams per day
Carbs intake - .65 * 1,777.5 = 1,154 Calories of Carbs/4 Calories = 288.51 grams per day
Fat  intake - .20 * 1,777.5 = 355.5 Calories of Fat/9 calories = 39.5 grams per day

Tuesday December 8, 2015 - Back in the gym

I ate way to much these past few weeks. I tried to control my calories, but my nervous and stressful appetite got the best of me. Luckily, during that period, I stayed on my workout regimen. I now complete 6 to 7 hours or cardio a week.

I like working out, now that my outfits are very feminine. I have become very comfortable in my outfits and love mixing and matching styles and colors.

If you are wondering, I still use the men's room. I consider myself a feminine male. I shower at home but I put my towel, car keys and feminine sweatsuit in a locker. Once I finished, I dry my face and put on my sweatsuit. Then I head home to shower.

There are a few guys I have met who talk to me about sports or politics either before or after my workout while we are in the locker room.

One guy is a Dallas Cowboy fan who calls me the marathon man because of my long 2 hours cardio workouts.

Last night, I completed a two hour workout. Its getting cold and because I am still sweating when I leave, I decided switch to a daytime schedule, because its warmer.

Also, if you notice my outfit, I have a long t-shirt underneath. I am going to try that look with a t-shirt that has a lace hemline. It will be cuter and a little more feminine.

I am going to try a exercise 7 to 8 hours the next two weeks in an attempt to burn off all that cake I ate Saturday and Sunday. Heck, Friday too. Lol.

Tuesday November 3, 2015 - Sunday I did 180 minutes of cardio

I decided last Friday that I was going to try to complete 60 minutes of cardio Friday, 120 minutes on Saturday and 180 minutes on Sunday. I create these goals as a way to motivate myself and not get bored with my workout.

My current overall weekly goal is 6 or 7 hours of cardio plus an hour of stairmaster warm up.

I messed up Saturday by being late to the gym. So I could only complete 60 minutes before they closed.

But Sunday, I did 180 minutes. It was hard but fun.

I started with 15 minutes of warm up. I then moved to an elliptical machine in front of the TV showing the Falcon's game. The first hour was easy. That is now my minimum workout. After I finished, I stopped for about 2 minutes to drink some water.

I then got back on the machine for the second hour. It was not bad as I watched the Falcon's fumble away the game. I like exercising while watching sports or a good movie because normally I would be home on the couch watching it. Why not go to the gym and complete a cardio session while watching it. It makes the workout session go faster.

The third hour was a different story. I felt a tightness in my upper left thigh that lingered for the whole hour. I labored the last 20 minutes but I tried to concentrate on the Falcon's overtime game. They lost but I am a Jamis Winston fan from his FSU days, so it was still fun to watch.

After I finished, I felt great because I accomplished my goal. but I was exhausted. As I left the gym, the front desk employee stated that he was impressed with my workout. I told him I was getting ready for Thanksgiving and this would allow me to eat all of the good food that day. He laughed and said that I was definitely in shape. I said thanks and slowly walked out the door.

I got home and made a smoothie and drank 32 oz of water. My clothes were soaked. Even my ankle socks were wet. As I got into the shower, I notice my whole body was getting sore and I had an overall exhaustive feeling creeping over me.

Once I got out of the shower, I drank another 32 oz glass of water. I warmed up some food and I felt my feet begin the cramp. Which means I needed more water. So I drank another 32 oz glass of water. After I ate, I began to feel better.

My brother came over so we could watch the Walking Dead. Also, I wanted him to see this new great TV show called Ash vs The Evil Dead. My brother and I saw the original 1981 Evil Dead movie in the theater during his Sophomore year in College. It was also my second year teaching at the college. Not only was it a great movie but it was a nice bonding moment as we were both away from home and just hanging out.

That Stazz TV show is a "do not miss" show for me. It reminded me of the 1981 movie that was scary and full of gore, blood and craziness.

Anyway, Sunday was a fun day of working out and hanging out with my brother.

Sunday November 1, 2015 - Exercising

I worked out both Friday night, Saturday afternoon and will workout today.

FRIDAY
On Friday,  I tried a slightly more daring look. Now that I wear a bra during workout, I decided to highlight the bra.  I am not trying to be sexy. I wanted to add a third color as a square cut undershirt.

With these two t-shirts, I was showing too much chest. I did not want to show too much chest, so the bra acts like a third t-shirt to cover across my chest.

I wore grey leggings with a grey t-shirt. I added a red t-shirt for color both above and below the grey t-shirt.

Both t-shirts were low cut. So I added an orange bra, that you can see peeking across my chest. To highlight the bra, I added orange ankle socks and orange laces to mt sneakers.

I liked the look and headed to the gym. Once there, the red t-shirt cut across my hips to give me some cover.

I wore a black sweat suit over my outfit because it was cool outside and after exercising I need the sweat suit to keep me warm as I head home. I shower at home. Only, once did I shower at the gym, I feel safer at home and I can complete my skin maintenance routine.

SATURDAY
On Saturday, I wore another outfit that showed my bra line as an undershirt. This blue one has a lace trim. Again the bra is used to give better chest coverage.

I had planned on completing 120 hours on the elliptical. However, I was running late and could only complete 60 minutes (plus my 20 minute warm up) before the gym closed.

I had no issues at the gym. I have been dressing like this so long that all the employees know me and some the regulars speak. There are a very few males who speak or nod their heads when we pass. With on guy, we talk  NFL Football because he is a Dallas fan. We watched the end of the Dallas game when the Falcons placed while on adjacent machines. Saturday while I was warming up on the elliptical machine, he jumped on the one next to me and asked if I was just starting. I said yes. I noticed he was already sweaty and asked him if he had finished with the elliptical. He had he did weights and calisthenics earlier. We finished our stairmaster and I headed to the elliptical while he head to the locker room.

I finished my hour and left. I wish I had more time because I now feel that 1 hour is only a warm up. I like completing two hours.

SUNDAY
Today, I plan on working out for 3 hours on the elliptical machine. I did that one time last year while on vacation. I did not drink enough water and my feet began to cramp toward the end. So, today, I am going to bring a water bottle.

I am going to the gym at 12:30 so I can spend 20 minutes warming up on the stairmaster. Then I am going to watch a 1 pm NFL game and workout on the elliptical until the 4 pm games start. I just want to try 180 minutes again to see how my body reacts. This its a test and a milestone that keeps me from getting bored.

Wish me luck.

Thursday October 29, 2015 - Feeling Good

I am feeling good today. Yesterday I took some fem-time and I feel pretty. Also, I have changed my workout routine and bought a Nutribullet to make smoothies. I can feel the difference.

I do not look like the photo on the left, yet, but I can get there. Just wait until 6 to 9 months on HRT.

I changed my workout routine last month. I am warming up with 15- 20 minutes on the stairmaster. Followed by 60 minutes to 120 minutes on the elliptical machine. My goal is 6 to 7 hours per week on the elliptical and 1 hour on the stairmaster.

The slow cardio burning is having an impact because my racing bras are feeling lose around the band. I think I am finally burning upper body muscle. It takes a long slow burn with long time cardio sessions to reach that muscle burning stage. The two hour sessions appear to be doing that.

Also, I started making home smoothies that I eat/drink after each workout. I make a simple smoothie with:

  1. 1 cup of raw strawberries or raspberries
  2. 1 cup of 2% milk
  3. 1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt
  4. 1 tablespoon of vanilla protein power
This is about 250 calories for 16 ounces.

My grandkids hate the drink because there is not enough sugar. I love it.

I have noticed in the last week that my energy level is up and the amount of calories burned per hour has increased. I know that these machines overestimate the amount of calories burned. But I use the number as a gauge over time, to see how much effort I am using.

In the late 2010 and throught 2011, I could "burn" 800 calories per hour. But over the past couple of years, 720 calories per hour was good. This summer, I was having trouble reaching 700 and sometimes I was in the 680 to 700 calorie per hour range.

However, over the past week, I am back in the 790 to 810 calorie per hour range and I can do that for the total two hour period. As a matter of fact, I find 1 hour of cardio is a warm up and I am ready for that second hour. I am having no problem with the 2 hour session. I might try three hours this Sunday while watching the NFL game, just to see how I perform.

In the meanwhile, my clothes are getting loose. My scale broke, so I have not weighted myself, but I feel great and appear to look thinner.

Sunday October 4, 2015 - Exercising with or without a bra

On October 1st, I wrote a post about how my exercising helps me both physically and mentally. I brought up my concern about a year from now, after 4 to 5 months on HRT, how my body changes may affect my exercising.

Since I have gynecomastia, I expect and my Doctor agrees, my breast growth may begin soon after HRT begins. Currently, I do not wear a bra while exercising. However, once my breasts begin growing, a bra will be a requirement. I was concerned about incorporating a bra into my outfit.

Well, I received a comment from Kati Reynolds. She asked why I was not wearing a bra. It's obvious that I am wearing a tight fitting female exercise outfit. I believe Kati referred to this by.saying my outfit is "decidedly not alpha male", and she is correct. Therefore adding a bra should not make a difference.

I thought about it and I agree. This is why I appreciate your comments so much. It gives me another perspective on my journey. Sometimes you can not see the forest for the trees.

Kati was right, and so I decided yesterday to start wearing my racing bras while exercising.

Below are two pictures of my Saturday outfit. One with a bra and one without a bra. It just so happens my outfit had a low cut neckline. So the bra showed across my chest. The bra I choose was similar in color to my undershirt but it had lace along the top.

This picture is without a bra.

This Picture is with a bra.

You can see the bra line does show across my chest. To me, Kati is correct, it does not have a major impact on my outfit. So I wore it on Saturday. I worked out 20 minutes on the stairmaster and then 80 minutes on the elliptical.

I did not notice any difference in the reaction from staff or customers. I received the same smiles and greeting my women and indifference from the guys.

Below is a picture after my workout. I was soaked. My bra line is not as noticeable because my shirts were slightly up.

I considered Saturday a success. So I have decided to wear a bra everyday I exercise.

I want to thank Kati for her comment. I appreciate her giving me that boost up to the next rung of the latter.

Thursday October 1, 2015 - Exercing helps with my Gender Dysphoria

I worked out both Tuesday and Wednesday night of this week. I realized that exercising not only helps keep the weight off and improved my physical health, but it also improves my mental health.

After Tuesday's Femboy day out. I was feeling down Tuesday night. So I went to the gym to complete  80 minutes of cardio. Wednesday was another down day and I repeated the workout. After each work out, I felt better.

I think from a mental health view point, working out lets me know I am keeping the weight off and trying to keep a more slim and feminine appearance. Also, I wear leggings and tight female t-shirts that show off my figure. I am now very comfortable wearing these obvious female workout clothes and sneakers with matching ankle socks.

I wore a black outfit last night with a blue T-shirt underneath. I added blue shoe string and ankle socks.

I have not gotten any negative responses or stares concerning my outfits. I have been wearing them for months. I now enjoy wearing them and walk thru out the gym. It no long bothers me who is on which machine or if they see me.

I am proud of my figure and its part of me. It shows the hard work I do, to stay in shape.

However, I think about this time next year when I will have been on HRT  for 4 months and my chest grows. Currently, I do not wear my daily racing bra while working out, so I show a little. But the two layers of tight T-shirts help. The racing bra would show thru my shirts, especially once I start sweating.

But after 120 days of female hormones,  I may not be able to get away with no bra. I am not sure how I will hand it. I may have to try oversize T-shirts and racing bras.

But I will worry about that, next year.

A new routine I just started is two layout my next two workout outfits. It helps motive me to go exercise because I can not wait to wear them. It takes time to get a nice matching outfit.

This outfit is for tonight. It is orange based with yellow and green

This outfit is for Saturday, while I watch some college football. It's my pink set with a baby blue under shirt. The undershirt covers the baby blue lettering on the pink shirt. You can see the color used on the main t-shirt letters on the sleeves. There are two colored strips on the sleeve.

Sunday September 13, 2015 - Work Out

I have been working so hard and not eating as well as I should. So with the start of  the NFL, I decided to have a heavy workout day.

I need to get my weight back under control.

First I need to get back to working out four days a week. Two of those days at 60 minutes and two days at least 90 minutes of cardio.

Second, I will use myfitnesspal phone app to count my daily calories at 1,770 per day.

Third, weight myself daily at the same time on the same scale.

Forth, measure parts of  body with a tape measurer, once a month to tract my long-term goals.

Fifth, I will print a monthly calendar to tract my exercise, daily calories and weight.

The best way for me to accomplish a goal is to set these tasks and follow it daily.

Thursday September 10, 2015 - Working out last week

The last time I worked out, something unique happened. I went in late (around 11:30 pm) to workout. While completing my 90 minutes of cardio, there were only a couple of people working out. I was watching TV but I noticed this guy on the treadmill behind me. Then he moved to the elliptical at the opposite end of the row. Finally, he ended up next to me on the exercise bike.

He asked me how often I workout. I told him 3/4 times a week. He stated this was his first session. We ended up talking about 15 minutes as I told him not to overdo it for his first workout. As I finished my workout, he finished his biking and we talked as I went to get some water.

I told him how I lost weight and my 18 month program. He works until the late evening and then comes in before going home. We talked about LA Fitness and I told him I moved to Planet Fitness because I do not need the pool and basketball court.

We ended up in the locker room and I put on my sweat suit while we talked about losing weight. I left first and he said bye and will see me again next time.

I have had women say hello and have had small talk with them but never a guy. I have not been back to the gym because of the holiday and a Tennessee funeral I had to attend.

I find it interesting that I want to be accepted for who I am. With women its OK, but with men, I do not know. Men are always hunting. Was he genuinely interested in my weight loss success or was he hunting?

I do not know and I do not have a girlfriend to discuss this with. I really need to join a group, so I can learn and have some girls to talk to about these issues. My best girlfriend died almost 2 years ago. I really miss her.

She would have been the girl I could talk to about this issue.

Wednesday September 9, 2015 - Working in Femboy Mode

Yesterday, I had to work at home all day. But I wanted to dress feminine. So I wore a Femboy outfit all day. My dressing desire is moving more feminine. Over the decades, as I have come out of the closet, my femininity grows. In the past I had to go back in the closet to keep Susan in control.

Now again, I am out of the closet, but slowly expressing myself and telling others. I am not going back in. I find myself wanting my boy mode and Femboy mode to be more feminine. My workout outfits are very feminine and will continue so.

It is still warm in Atlanta and sunny. It did rain later in the afternoon, but I felt summery today.

So I wore a nice feminine top that matched my yellow jeans. I would have went out today in this outfit, even though the top was more feminine that I would usually wear. I just felt like wearing it and it was cute.

I would usually wear some flats, but I could not find a pair that matched and felt right. Even though I just bought three more pair last week.

I decided to wear my multi-color sneakers and changed the laces from white to a blue that matched a secondary color in my top.

I added jewelry. I had a green, white and yellow set of shell bracelets that brought all of the colors together.

I added a necklace with a yellow pendant. I did not add earring or makeup. I needed to add both. Especially makeup, so I could practice.

I did wear my hat, so it was more a Femboy look than a woman look with a wig.

From now on I am going to add makeup and a wig for practice. If I decide to go out, I will replace the wig with a hat and grab my pocketbook and go.

Tuesday September 1, 2015 - Weight In

August 2015 is over. So its time to summarize my weight control for the past two months. I was not able to write a post for the month of July. I was so busy traveling and not eating correctly that I did not excerise enough nor weight myself in July.

So this blog brings me up to September 1, 2015. Even in August, I have been busy traveling, but I did get back on track.

My goal in January 2015 was to try to lose about 0.50 pound per month for a total of 6 pounds in 2015. I updated my goal in May 2015 because of my daughter's family living in the house and the junk food they kept. I decided to just maintain may weight.

Today, I am going to start with a new goal. My new goal is to get ready in nine months (June 2016) for HRT.

My last weight-in was August 30, 2015. My weight was 173.2 lbs. This 0.2 pounds lighter than the end of June 2015. My July and August months were right on target by maintaining my weight.

Now, I want to get as much fat off of me as possible before I start HRT. I will attempt to keep that fat off until my hormone balance tilts decidedly female. It should take about 3 months for this hormone transition to be completed. Then (Septemeber 2016), I will add weight (fat) and it should return in female places.

Over the next 9 months, I will attempt to lose 15 pounds or 1.3 pounds per month. As the previous months have indicated, this will be hard.  However with HRT looming, I am going to be very motived. I only get one change to get this right,

I am very excited and look forward to this challenge. Plus it will remind me everyday of the June 10, 2016 deadline.

I am going to keep my caloric intake down by eating more salads and drinking much more water. Also I must keep corn syrup and refined sugar out of my diet.

On the excerise front, I am going to workout 3 to 4 times a week. Two of those days will be 90 to 120 minutes of cardio in addition to 15 minutes of warmup on the stairmaster. The other one or two days will be 60 minutes long.

Finally, I am going to take a monthly set of  pre-HRT selfies leading up to June 2016. This will give me a nice timeline of the impact of weight loss. This pre-HRT timeline will later be compared to my post-HRT timeline.

9 Month Summary

Month My Goal Actual Difference
October 1st 170.0 lbs
November 1st 168.7 lbs
December 1st 167.4 lbs
January 1, 2016 166.1 lbs
February 1st 164.8 lbs
March 1st 163.5 lbs
April 1st 162.2 lbs
May 1st 160.8 lbs
June 1st 159.5 lbs

Monday July 27, 2015 - Tired

I had a great time in CT last week. But I am so tired because I was in constant meetings, both business and social from 8 am until 2 am the next morning. I feel all 59 years today.

The business part of the trip is very promising. But the best part was visiting friends and family. I came out to my cousin but did not have the time to come out to my friend.

It's so liberating to tell people and get their acceptance.

Today I am resting. Because of some water damage to my house, I am staying in a hotel until Wednesday.

During the past week, I was off my calorie counting and eat poorly. Also, I have not exercised in a week and I feel it. I can still wear my clothes, but they are getting tight. I hate to get on a scale.

So I am back on my eating schedule and will exercise at the hotel tonight.

Tomorrow I have an electrology appointment. It has been three weeks and I do not have many wiskers left. But I ones I have are long. So,I will cut them back for tomorrow.

I also have my annual eye checkup tomorrow. I am going to go as a Femboy. They only know me in boy mode. I do not expect any negative issues and it will give me a chance to educate.

My only problem is that most of my women clothes were packed away. This will give me an excuse to shop for a nice summer outfit, later today.
